GLORIA is able to measure temperature and more than 20 trace gases as well as aerosol species as 2D distributions along the flight-track or even 3D distributions inside closed flight patterns. Some of these trace species are of tropospheric origin (water vapor, CFCs, N2O, CH4, or pollution species like NH3, PAN, C2H2, and HCOOH) while others are abundant in the stratosphere (like ozone, HNO3 and ClONO2).
